Hello! I'm Andrew L. Choi, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University College London, School of Management. I am currently on the job market for assistant professor positions.
I research how people understand and navigate their social networks in their pursuit of greater personal attainment (e.g., social mobility, social status). In my primary line of research, I focus on how individual characteristics like social class and gender shape social networks, and how social networks consequently shape downstream consequences (e.g., employment outcomes). In my secondary line of research, I examine how people perceive their networks, and how networks shape their perceptions of others. Altogether, my work contributes to an understanding of when networks serve as resources versus barriers to personal advancement.
