Hello! I'm Andrew L. Choi, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University College London, School of Management. I am currently on the job market for assistant professor positions.
My research examines how individuals navigate organizations and networks in their pursuit of greater personal attainment (e.g., social mobility, social status). I integrate social psychological and cognitive perspectives into social network research to examine how micro-level mechanisms unfold in the social networks of organizations.
In my primary line of research, I examine the ways individual characteristics such as social class and gender shape social networks, and how social networks consequently shape downstream consequences (e.g., employment prestige). In my secondary line of research, I examine more fundamental questions, and explore how individuals understand and perceive their social networks, and how they perceive themselves in relation to others in their networks.
